Men’s SS16 Mood Board

We took a sneak peek at the mood boards which inspired the Men’s SS16 collection, and discovered the key men’s trends to look out for in this season’s collection. Playing with three main influences for the season, Head of Men’s Own Brand Andy Thompson lets us in on spring trends not to be missed.

Casuals & 70s inspiration

Inspired by men’s catwalk collections such as Saint Laurent and Gucci, soft, golden tans are partnered with earthy tones of leather and suede for a smart casual twist which enriches sportswear pieces. The essential items of the moment are loafers and slippers, so why not add some ‘70s influence to your wardrobe with styles such as KG Kurt Geiger ‘Francis’ and ‘Colibra’.

Formal & modern military inspiration

A sartorial/luxe take on utility and military, this classic trend has drawn inspiration from the catwalk with designers such as Acne and Prada. Its application in footwear is a playful mix of smart leathers offset with micro textures. There’s a strong juxtaposition with natural soles and darkened colours focussing on strong attention to detail throughout range. Keep a look out for lower constructions and statement leathers, with must-have pieces including KG Kurt Geiger ‘Mansel’ and ‘Miles’.

Sports Luxe inspiration

Sports Luxe is here to stay this season! As this style is sports dressed up with high end sensibilities, it’s the perfect look to carry you through from day to night. Using a mixture of texture blocking and clean pattern detailing, ‘Kurtis’ and ‘Phoenix’ are definite staples for your new season style.

“Top fashion features are moc croc, studding, 70’s fringing and iced treatments on cup soles” says Andy. Let us know which trend will be invading your shoe wardrobe this season and how you’ll be styling it on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
